Door Closure
Thread music:
It's always nice to have some closure. We've been through a couple hiatuses before, some longer than others, but it's all just prolonging the inevitable. How long could we really last anyway? As our interests change and we all start to go our own separate ways, it comes with both great relief and a sense of loss for me to admit that all things must someday come to an end. Now at a pivotal point in my life, I've been forced to realize this. Not just concerning us, but as a valuable life lesson, everything inclusive. All concerts must eventually end, all vacations must eventually be returned from, and all empires must eventually fall. We had always had our downtime now and then, and we had always seemed to come back for seconds--but as time moved on each iteration returned with interest weaker than the last. There's no point in beating a dead horse; It's always best to let things run their natural course and die out peacefully rather than be forcefully stretched out into a chaotic and messy downfall.
It's been great. We've had a lot of great times together, many laughs and a plethora of inside jokes I'm sure we'll never forget, and of course we've met many of whom we now call close friends today--lifelong friends, even. We've had our fun. It's been a learning experience for us all. But our interest is dieing, and unfortunately it's not a problem that can be solved. It seems that anything worth doing has already been done. And it's not just us, no way. There are still quite a handful of us who wouldn't mind returning to the old days, myself included. Creativity will never end, there will always be something fresh and exciting to do. But in a market plagued with inadequacy, I'm not sure that creativity will survive much longer at all. People simply don't know how to roleplay anymore. The general population is now fickle; if it isn't DarkRP, it's surely no good at all. And this is simply a battle we just can't win.
With that said, maybe we will go quietly into the night. We've already had our fight. But we will live on. In all reality, this really doesn't change anything at all. It's not like we're all suddenly never going to talk to each other ever again after this. I'll always be up for some TF2 with my old buddies. This isn't the end, it's simply a new beginning. Out with the old and make way for the new. We will move on to bigger and better things, just you wait. There will always be more memories to create together in the future. As for this, I felt we just needed a little bit of closure, that's all. I owe you that. And with that, I bid you adieu. See you ingame. Only time can tell what the future has in store.
And just to clarify, this is really only concerning EXRP. That is, the GMod RP server. I'll still be hosting the occasional TF2 server and whatnot.
There's always a possibility of return, as nothing in life is ever purely concrete, but for now I'd prefer some closure. Good night, sweet prince. It's been a hell of a ride.

The Boys Are Back In Town
...For now, at least. We still need you to do your part and be active on the server and forums. That said, bear in mind that the script is still somewhat beta-ish--there are some things that are glitchy, and there are some things that need complete recodes. There are also a lot of things that have yet to be implemented, so there's an even better reason to play--to see all the new features as they arrive, as well as see them develop and have your input on how things work! I will be taking any suggestions and feedback for new features and changes to how existing things work (no matter how minor, major, or trivial they may be). Please keep an eye on the Bug Tracker and help me by posting your suggestions and feedback on existing items as well as reporting your own suggestions or bugs you may find.
The server IP is 69.162.110.230:27015, as seen on the Servers page of our site. I'll try to keep it up as much as possible as well as refrain from restarting the map too often to update the gamemode from SVN, but do remind yourself that it's still very much a testing server--though that doesn't mean you can't RP! So get on there and get to the RPing, folks! Glad to be back, let's hope it stays that way. I promise that if activity persists throughout the next few months, EXRP's script will become the best of all our RP dreams come true. Enjoy.
Edit:
Sticky bug is fixed!

Excel's Roundup
I'm proud to announce that as far as I'm concerned, we're coming back. We've had our time off, and for the most part I'm sure we're all dieing to RP again--I know I am. A few of us have been thinking about it for a while, and we've concluded that now is the best time to return.
The script is fine, albeit a few glitches to fix, and I'm arranging something to get the sticky ground fixed once and for all. Though I will try and rework some parts of the script so it's more like the old EXLRP, as it seems like we had most of our fun then.
All we need now is you--the players. I know it's been a while, and I know a lot of us won't even receive this message or have just completely moved on. However, in order for this plan to go forward and for EXRP to be back in the spotlight, we NEED your help! If we don't get enough players that can render any action taken worth the effort, then I'm afraid this will be our final hour.
Do your part; if we all work together then we can make this work. Let me know if you're still around and if you'd willing to come back if we do. Ask your friends if they'd be interested. Reply to this thread with your results as well as any feedback or suggestions you can think of--I need your input. I'm willing to make some radical changes so long as it means we can continue.
I can't possibly further emphasize how imperative it is that we gather a significant amount of players this time around. That's the only thing holding us back. Now, whether we manage this by bringing back veteran players or by bringing in some new faces, that's a completely different story. But no matter how we do it, it has to be done--or we'll be.
This is our last stand. Make the most of it.
Sincerely,
Doug

TF2 Server is back!
That's right, our TF2 server is back and better than ever.
Go give it a try, and if you've already been there, I hope to see you on again soon!
(Chances are you will be since you arsed to go look at our site)
IP is on the servers page of this site.
Any suggestions, feedback, problems of any kind?
Let me know.
As for EXRP, it's currently in active development and still "coming soon".
Be sure to check the bug tracker page for a list of everything you can expect from version 1.2.
Enjoy!
